When you think about your upcoming talk, what kind of speaker do you want to be? One who bores the audience senseless, or one who gets the audience excited about the subject?
As you start to prepare your talk, the first phase must be to shift perspective. Remember it’s not the responsibility of the audience to speak your language – but it is your responsibility to speak the language of the audience. So it’s time to shift away from your perspective as speaker, and look at things from the perspective of the audience.
