At the end of 2019 and beginning of this year, three important events related to European gas market happened: Russia and Ukraine reached a long-awaited agreement on the prolongation of the gas transit contract, the US has imposed sanctions on «vessels engaged in pipe-laying at depths of 100 feet or more below sea level for the construction” of the new Russian gas pipelines projects, and the TurkStream (formerly Turkish Stream) pipeline was launched.
