The world economy is gradually healing
According to UBS's Chief Economist, Larry Hatheway*, the world economy is gradually healing. Visiting Luxembourg from UBS Investment Bank in London, Mr Hatheway shared his views during a press conference on where the global economy stands and on what to expect in this year. The upward trend signs are timid but showing in the main three economic strongholds: the United States, China as well as Europe.   In the United States, there is an overall upward trend as the economy grows at a slightly faster pace. This trend can be seen in different areas of the economy: due to a rise in employment, household consumption is showing resilience and consequently, the housing market as well as retail banking have started to pick up. Corporate banking also shows sign of higher activity....
