Rich Internet Applications will prove the difference for banks in 2010
By Kris Cole, managing director, Belux, Adobe Systems There is a significant shift taking place in the way which banks and financial services institutions are allocating their IT investments and spending. Analysts predict that after flat or decreasing IT spend in financial services in recent years, spending will grow in 2010* but much of this additional growth may not be invested in traditional areas of IT such as back-office systems or mainframes. Alternatively, spending on front-end applications and user experience will increase. Earlier this year, at a webinar on rich internet applications (RIA), analyst group, Financial Insights, predicted a 5.1% increase in spending by the sector on front-end systems across 2010 and 2011**.
