Azerbaijan has excellent macroeconomic figures (inflation, trade balance, FDIs, public debt/GDP …): what are the plans of your government to increase GDP/capita?
Azerbaijan has achieved an incredible GDP growth over the past 10 years. Our GDP grew 3.2 times in this timeframe. During this period, our non-oil sector grew 2.6 times. Our mid-term and long-term state strategies on poverty reduction resulted in a decrease of poverty by 8.4 times. Our current unemployment rate is 5%. Consolidated currency and gold reserves are equal to over 63 billion $. Very importantly, our external debt /GDP ratio is only 8%.
