The Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) listed and admitted to trading on 27 October 2015 a green bond issued by Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), the German government-owned development bank. With an issue amount of EUR 1.5 billion, this is the largest bond of its type this year. The issue amount matches last year’s record for a green bond, which was also listed in Luxembourg and issued by KfW. This latest issue (ISIN XS1311459694) is a tranche of KfW’s Euro Medium Term Note programme, bears an annual interest of 0.125% and matures in 2020. The proceeds of the issue will be used for project financing and loans under KfW’s “Renewable Energies – Standard” programme, which aims to promote the development of electricity from renewable resources.
