On 4 March 2014, the ABBL, in collaboration with the CSSF, organized a conference on the new Framework Regulation of the Single Supervisory Mechanism published for consultation by the ECB. A large audience, consisting of around 150 concerned financial professionals, amply demonstrated that this issue is followed with great interest by the Luxembourg financial community. In his opening speech, Claude Simon, Director in charge of banking supervision at the CSSF and voting member at the ECB Supervisory Board, summarized the forthcoming changes in the area of banking supervision.
