Titre : 23 local investment professionals earn prestigious “CFA Designation”
Article : The Luxembourg CFA Society, the local member society of CFA Institute announce that after more than three years of study, 23 local investment professionals in Luxembourg have earned the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation. Administered by CFA Institute, the CFA Program is widely considered to be among the most rigorous in the investment profession.

The programme is a graduate-level, self-study curriculum, comprising a series of three sequential examinations that test candidates around the world in ethical and professional standards; financial reporting and analysis; corporate finance; economics; quantitative methods; equity, fixed income, and alternative investments; derivatives; portfolio management and wealth planning. The CFA charter is the only globally recognised credential for investment analysis and management.

The CFA Program sets a globally recognised standard for measuring the competence and integrity of financial analysts, portfolio managers and investment advisers. Currently, almost 90,000 investment professionals in 133 nations and territories hold the CFA charter. This June, CFA Institute administered the CFA exams simultaneously to 104,111 candidates at 256 test centers in 182 cities worldwide. Candidates for the CFA designation must pass a series of three six-hour exams over at least three years. Each of the three examinations typically requires candidates to spend 300 hours in study preparation.

CFA candidates typically take four years to pass the three required exams from initial enrollment to the time they complete all requirements for the CFA designation. With an overall pass rate of 49 percent, some 19,436 candidates passed the third and final exam in the exam series this year and expect to receive their charter. That brings the number of CFA charterholders worldwide to nearly 90,000.

CFA Institute continues to award additional charters weekly as candidates who have passed all three exams meet all other requirements, including the completion of four years of professional investment experience and the submission of a statement committing themselves to adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. The Luxembourg CFA Society is a non-profit membership organisation for financial practitioners. As one of the 136 member societies of CFA Institute, the mission of the Luxembourg CFA Society is to advance the interests of (nationality) investment professionals and maintain the highest standards of professional excellence and integrity.

Léon Kirch, CFA and President of the Luxembourg CFA Society said, "The CFA designation is the hallmark of excellence in the global investment community. It is well recognised that individuals who have earned the CFA charter have made personal commitments to an intensive study program and ethical standards of professional behaviour.” The 23 new CFA charterholders brings the total number of CFA charterholders in the Luxembourg CFA Society to 167.
