Still young with an outstanding track record
Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are turning 25 this year. Along with their anniversary, ETFs will also be celebrating a number of key milestones that have been achieved during this quarter century, during which ETFs and ETPs (Exchange-Traded Products) have been becoming increasingly popular.
Let’s start with some numbers from the end of July 2016 for the global ETF/ETP industry:

- 12,342 listings
- Assets of US$3.343 trillion
- 285 providers
