Luxembourg among top 5 leading European financial centres

According to the newly released Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 18), Luxembourg is one of the Top 5 European financial centres. Like in previous years, Luxembourg is also perceived as the only European financial centre likely to become more significant in the future.

The GFCI rates the competitiveness of financial centres twice a year based on categories such as business environment, human capital, taxation, infrastructure, reputation and financial sector development. It is the only ranking of that kind.

Luxembourg does particularly well in the sub-categories of business environment and infrastructure. In both categories, it ranks 8th globally, showing a substantial improvement. Luxembourg now ranks 19th overall.
