In Praise of Europe’s New Finance Minister
European Politicians simply don’t get it! Indeed, for three years now, they run from one meeting to another, with apparent plans to save the Eurozone. Each time the markets recover for a short period of time, till the crisis gets even worse. Their behavior can be compared to treating hangover with shots of vodka. For a short period of time you feel better, but after that you feel even worse.   As politicians have become impotent, their role has been taken over, step by step, by technocrats. For those who believe in the objectivity of social sciences, this might seem a welcome development. But, it is a dangerous move away from an open society and democratic decision making.
