The Human Resources and Recruitment Industries face constant changes online
By Christopher Purdy, Director, Greenfield Sarl It’s hard to imagine anyone in the recruitment industry not being familiar with social media sites likes LinkedIn that act as a huge database for the professional lives of millions of people and yet, just over ten years ago, some of us were still using fax machines. My career started in London where I worked in recruitment for a firm that insisted all CVs had to be sent by fax to clients – although email was already widespread it was banned from use. There was no great logic to this procedure, it was simply the company policy. Although the system may have seemed closer to the London of Charles Dickens, that was the way the industry operated – with a dramatically different process to the present and inconceivable...
