Is Hungary liberal (in the American meaning of the word) or libérale (in the French meaning)?
We think differently about the meaning of freedom, the freedom of the individual must be protected and respected. Fundamental rights and human rights are crucial. The individual however lives in a community, as a part of the community. The Fundamental Law of Hungary also states, that we can only practice our rights with responsibility. Contrarily, classical liberalism states that the individual is the most significant. The individual is permitted to do anything, even hurt himself.
