Due to the recent massive influx of interested parties, everything about the metaverse seems new, unique – as if it came out of nowhere – but that is not the case.
Rather, the metaverse is a response to a growing cultural, generational, social, and philosophical shift emerging from the convergence of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), blockchain, cryptocurrencies, video games, and user communities.
