The European Data Protection Board (“EDPB”) recently published new guidelines (“Guidelines”) on the calculation of fines for breaches of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). Currently, each national regulator has its own policy. For example, the Dutch data protection authority has issued guidelines on this subject while its Luxembourg counterpart, the CNPD, has not.
