Uzbekistan has been hit by coronavirus, with 9,078 contaminations and 27 deaths (or 0.8 deaths / 1 million inhabitants, as July 3, 2020): these figures are much lower than neighboring countries’ but Uzbekistan has been affected by the surrounding decline in production and consumption, the disruption of global production chains and trade relations, the lower commodity prices and the worsening global financial markets.
