Five years of the IFM Self-Assessment Questionnaire: an examination of its evolution
By Francesco D’AVANZO, Regulatory Compliance AML/CFT Professional – Investment Fund industry   The annual investment fund managers’ (IFMs) self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ) has undergone a steady evolution since its introduction in 2021. A comparison between the original version and the most recent version (i.e. covering the exercise end date from 31 December 2025 to 30 November 2026) shows a clear process of refinement over time. While the majority of the sections of the SAQ have been subject only to minor adjustments without substantive changes, other sections have been significantly strengthened through the inclusion of new questions or changes to their structure. Moreover, additional sections have also been introduced compared to the original form....
