On 24 September 2020, the European Commission (the Commission) released a masterpiece: the Digital Finance Package. This framework depicts both the Commission’s digital finance and retails payments strategy. As an evidence of its wish to move forward quickly, the “package” also contains four proposals for regulation in relation to crypto-assets and distributed ledger technology (DLT), on the one, and digital operational resilience, on the other hand. Many legitimately commented these proposals, however, less focused on one major forthcoming topic addressed in this package: Open Finance.
