The new Qatar Embassy in Brussels, conceived in 2010 and inaugurated in July 2016, is the first embassy ever built by the State of Qatar in the world.
A Qatari palace with European expertise: a 3,500 m2 palace made of sandstone with traditional reception rooms respecting the Majli tradition, with three domes reminiscent of the prosperous Abbasid rule (750-XIIIth century) when Qatar was a significant trading hub between the Far East, Africa and the Middle East, with its interior decoration highlighting Qatari art.
