HRH Grand Duke Henri attended the 40th edition of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE)’s annual flagship event at the Philharmonie on 20 June 2023 to celebrate the 60-year anniversary of the Eurobond market, which has served as a launchpad for Luxembourg’s financial centre.
LuxSE dedicated this year’s edition of the Stock Exchange Day to the 60-year anniversary of the listing of the very first Eurobond, issued by Italian motorway construction company Autostrade in July 1963. A Eurobond is a debt instrument that is denominated in a currency different from that of the country in which it is issued. The historic USD 15 million bond was listed at the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and marked the start of a new era in international capital markets.
