Luc Frieden was elected as President of EUROCHAMBRES for the 2022-2023 term during today’s General Assembly. Mr Frieden, President of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, will take over the role on 1 January from the current EUROCHAMBRES President, Christoph Leitl.
Luc Frieden has been Chairman of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (a public law Chamber) since 2019. He is a member of the board of directors of several companies and organisations and a practicing lawyer. From 1998 to 2013, he served as Minister of Justice and Minister of Finance of Luxembourg. He was a member of the Eurogroup and the Ecofin Council of Ministers and chaired the 2013 Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
