In the UBI Group business plan 2008-2010, UBI Banca International S.A. has been assigned the mission of European hub for the management and development of the business lines carried out by various UBI Group companies in some E.U. member states. Outside Luxembourg, these businesses consisted of a factoring company operating in Madrid since a few years, and a corporate branch of Banca Popolare di Bergamo (a sister company) operating in Munich. In Madrid, UBI Banca International has opened a full branch as of June 1st, which has taken over all assets and liabilities of the existing factoring company, thereby liquidated.
