The Potential Impact of the Blockchain IV Law on Luxembourg Investment Funds

By Dr. Sebastiaan Niels HOOGHIEMSTRA* and Benjamin SCHAUB**   On 24 July 2024, the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance submitted a bill of law to the Luxembourg Parliament (the “Blockchain IV Law”) that proposes amendments to the law of 6 April 2013 on dematerialized securities (the “2013 Law”) that further strenghtnens the use of distributed ledger technology (“DLT”) for dematerialized securities.
